How far is too far to drive for a racquetball tournament? (2)

Last year I drove to the 20th UnitedHealthcare US Open event in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  It took about 15 hours each way.  That’s too far for me to drive again, especially if I’m the only one in the car.

I did also make Mobile, Alabama tournaments a couple of times last year and this year, which is about 5-6 hours each way, depending on whether or not I can avoid Atlanta’s heavy traffic times.

In two weeks, I’ll be driving to Huntsville, Alabama for their 2016 ACA Fall Classic.  It is about 3.5 hours each way.  I really like this particular club, the two courts with full glass backs have good viewing areas with many couches, a big screen TV showing college or pro sports, and good people populating it all.  The two courts that just have large viewing windows aren’t bad either.  I prefer to ref on those other two courts as I can go upstairs and lean in to the court to announce the score or make a call.

How far will you drive for a  racquetball tournament?  Let me know on Twitter!
