Congratulations go out to all of the participants of the 2014 IRT Atlanta Open Singles and Doubles Racquetball Tournament this weekend at Recreation ATL. Extra thanks goes out to Jason Chan and his finely honed tournament staff, Marquis Miller, Maurice Miller, and James Barber. Things would certainly not have gone as smoothly without their dedicated effort. With 124 signed up participants, the event started Friday at 6 pm and continued thru Sunday after 5 pm. The addition of the bleachers to the glass backed court viewing area was greatly appreciated by the players in between matches as they got to see some of the very best in the area and in the world play.

It was definitely a weekend of upsets.

24 entrants in the Men’s singles Pro/Open division, won by the 3rd seed, Sebastian Franco, who had to defeat the #2 and #1 seeds to get the win.
14 entrants in the Men’s singles Elite division, won by the 2nd seed, Marco Mijares, who defeated the #1 seed.
12 entrants in the Men’s singles A division, won by the 4th seed, Cory Welborn.
11 entrants in the Men’s singles B division, won by the 5th seed, Corey Rudzinski.
11 entrants in the Men’s singles C division, won by the 6th seed, Scott Webster.
